I'm afraid Rolie's not looking so rugged now he's been sprayed, but I reckon he looks pretty quick, photo tomorrow, but in the meantime a pic of all the zinc passivated stuff, which seems to turn 45 year old Japanese hardware into brand new.
By the way Yellow, I still manage to make a little time for a nice room temperature beer every now and then......aarh Belletts and Beer

You Guys are fantastic.
Your record of what you have done, and are doing would make a great album of details, this would have to be one of the best restoration, or re building projects I have seen!
I check this post every day and you seem to have "something" new on your progress, very inspiring.
If only the car could talk, I wonder what it would say about the jiob you are doing????

The whole story would be worthwhile making a History album on that car, from where and when it was found by the Mollers, I think it was, to the trip to GB, to when you are finished, the history would be worth keeping on file.
In fact I would be interested in the complete story when you have completed the project.

Japanese paint and metal finishing was good but nothing like the job that is done today.

Thanks for doing that mark now you can send him back to me . I might have to send Beethoven {rolies replacement}over i am still waiting for paint. i have got it back home for a week but back to the panel shop next week. We are not going to that much trouble. I dont think i could hurt rolie in that condition and walk away laughing.

You guys are sooo impressive. i thought poms only made things like Morris 8, Standard 10 and 50cwt (that's hundred weight for the younger members - 2.5 ton) Bentleys,Alvis and Siddeleys.
If you delete the comment about the occasional warm beer we would recommend you for Australian Citizenship under clause 14.3.1 - Cultural contribution!!!

As for the 30 day buy back clause...I don't remember that one....but what about the old "no win no fee" clause. I obviously expect my money back if we don't win on Sept 18th, are you OK with that Greg?

Question....right at the beginning of this thread GT Orph posted a couple of pics of Rolie straight out of the seventies, what is that 'thing' in front of the centre of his grill? We've found the remains of the mount and our favourite guess is a roo horn. Any ideas?

The first post on this thread 2nd photo you can see a spot light (hella i think)by the looks.
As for the cuting out of the super light door glass you are doing that wrong here in australia we would do it at the dining room table in front of the tv .
I agree with the no win no fee you can forward 2 return tickets over so we can confirm all is good and you gave it your best shot then if you dont win i pay you back and rolie returns to the great southern land. Sounds fair to me.
I would not race him after you have gone to that much trouble it would live in the finished project shed and be loved washed and driven and live under its own blanket.
My panel shop keeps saying it cant be too rough i keep telling him if it's not rough i cant race it . I got a seat in this week rack boots,wheel alignment,renagade diff lock,tune up,service,harness mounts and replaced the radiator.
As for a roo horn a real roo will stand half as high again as a bellett. The last thing you want to do is go beep and make stop to see what is going on chances are he is going flat chat as long as he keeps goin in the same direction is the best chance of missing it. We have a product over here called a shu roo some say they work others don't. my opinion is of the second as we tow them after they hit em with the shu roo implanted deep in the radiator. Best bet in the 70's would be down to the local steel shop and build armour. ADR rules make it hard these days.

We had a roo shu in the old holden we had years ago at Stanthorpe. It worked every time.
