Yep, will be a lot better as metal, wont do the classic bellett snap in the middle hopefully! For note, I am also having the rear body vents cast in metal as well + polished as getting the plastic chromed is just becoming a nightmare.

What a bloody good idea!

As JT said, I'd never even thought of doing that either. I just keep hunting around for metal ones that haven't pitted or plastic ones that haven't snapped!

Yet again, great work Alistair!

Some of you may be interested in this

Saw a guy with bellett bits for sale on trademe. Went and found he had a literal treasure trove of bellett bits. Like so much stuff and I took 90% of it for a damn good price. Few bits towards the end I will be using on my bellett.

This is/may be a custom made bellett radiator fan. So cool.

Bits I will probably be using.

So happy with this score, I left alot behind, like panels, glass, boot, seats just because was too big for me!

That is one HELL of a score! There are a lot of bits in there that people would kill for... well, think nasty thoughts anyway ;)

Well done dude, you won't be wanting for spares for awhile :D Did the guy used to own a few or race or just a collector? He must have had a good story (or two) in regard to such a stash!

Cheers,
Ross.

Well mate it does not seem to have taken long. For some reason when ever you buy a Bellett you always find some one who has a huge collection of stuff and they end up helping you start your collection  . Next you will start sneaking stuff in and hiding it from your loved ones. Don't panic, just relax and let it happen.

Looks like you got a great collection of stuff there. Did you get a full set of the hubcaps?

Yep a full set of the hubcaps shown so they will definatley be making their way onto the car this weekend!

The guy was a real hoarder and bought every piece he could when he had a bellett. Ive got a lot of bits from 68's as well, will try and compile a list and better pictures for those that may need parts.

DELUXE HUBCAPS RULE!!

I got 3 with a stash of stuff (yeah, three) and had to get two more (one for the car, one backup) from Dik in Holland.

Of course, my GT is not a Deluxe, so they're 'wrong' but that's fine... coz so is the engine and gearbox...

And while a set of Deluxe hubcaps is hard to find... GT hubcaps are just impossible...

What a killer stash... good to have a spare pair of tail lights in case some numbskull punts up your arse at the traffic lights.

Legendary work!

Just take care with the hubcaps. They do tend to come off. Other than that as 65bellett said this is just the begining. you will find stuff all over the place, and a lot will find you.

Hmm. interesting, My GT has the opposite problem, sitting a bit low in rear end with reverse camber, espescially when loaded with kids in the back or full tank. I think this is due to lost tension in the leaf spring cross stabilizer over time, so... Jacked up rear end last night (looks almost as high as yours, Alistair.) in the hope that a bit of reverse tension for a few days might change this. Does this sound plausable, or wishful thinking oh knowlegable one's !! Also 14 inch! Mine are the original 13's. Is this normal to put 14's on. I know it makes a difference in ratio, but what else?
Dash similar to my GT, but yours missing dials in the centre (oil pressure, amps and temp) possibly different in the 1500, again excuse my ignorance. Is the wood steering wheel original, as in the GT, again possibly not but deserves to be there, hot! Are the seats original? If so, in good nick.
Gotta get My pics up this weekend also.... Dave, looking forward to seeing the RAT!!
Enjoy!!!

Hi guys, for some reason my comment on Alistairs 1500 has ended up under comment on Alistairs spares. Ahh! What the heck, look there for reference to rear suspension. Again, excuse the the imature clumsiness. We'll get there.

Tried the hubcaps on today, look nice, but I think will look better with a slight lowering. Hopefully have that sorted tomorrow :)
