I get it from EVERYWHERE but half of this stuff came from the one place.rod wrote:where you getting all this crap from .........bellett parts ......of the bellett parts tree ...
Besides, it's the end of Autumn and the leaves are falling off the Bellett tree all over the place.
I scrounge high and low at swap meets, wrecking yards, forums and FB + I have a network of backs I have scratched Australia wide that all keep an ear to the ground for me. I have found a heap of gear in Northern WA including a PR90 GT running a Celica engine but getting any of it east coast is a wee bit expensive. So they are all on my "round trip" list.
Whenever I see something pop up that even resembles Bellett I grab it and add it to my mythical GT pile

Re: Jumping on the GT bandwagon
One of those "right place at the right time" things, Rod! First day off the boat I found an old bloke with a heap of spares and no cars to put them on. So I bought 5 big boxes and filled Doris' boot and back seat. Included a complete 69 grille, a complete 65 grille 2x67 grille centres, several badges including a shield deluxe and a Wasp, front lenses......a lot of stuff.
I left behind the 4 bumpers, 4 gearboxes and 6 motors(!) until next trip.
Good shopping Stickman,
Cheers, Matt.

Re: Jumping on the GT bandwagon
I never made these ones Glenn and yes they are 3mm MDF, but I am going to use them as templates to remake some out of some 3mm fibrous plastic board specially designed for door cards.Glenn wrote:did you make the door cards ?Stickman wrote:That's why it's called "Off Topic Nonsense - because you're bored!" Unless you seal pre-seal the MDF with a lacquer or something they and reline the door body with plastic they can blow out to an inch thick with first day of rainy weather (just like Donkeys door trims were when I bought him)

Re: Jumping on the GT bandwagon
thanks for info. Yes, i would agree on sealing the mdf for sure. Where do you get the proper stuff from though? My Sport could do with new backing boardsStickman wrote:I never made these ones Glenn and yes they are 3mm MDF, but I am going to use them as templates to remake some out of some 3mm fibrous plastic board specially designed for door cards.Glenn wrote:did you make the door cards ?Stickman wrote:That's why it's called "Off Topic Nonsense - because you're bored!" Re: Jumping on the GT bandwagon
In the past I've bought it of auto upholsterers for making my own door cards & padded face boards for Bar Cabinets.
Not all I have asked in the past use it though so you might have to chase around a few of them.

Re: Jumping on the GT bandwagon
That one was made a couple of years ago but I still have enough of the same material left to make another 2 of them.....
And just to clarify for Lizzies bennifit - European Redwood is like a type of pine (bit like Baltic pine) so not even remotely red in colour at all.
But I could have one ready in a fortnight and I'll deliver on a car trailer so that I can collect payment at the same time

Ha Ha...I better send out a crew with my vicious guard dogs to disable the cameras, alarm and tenants ( in that order) to make for a smoother transaction then.

Re: Jumping on the GT bandwagon
Found the kick panels + MORE parts aquired
22. Kick panels Check
23. Fender mirrors Check (original 66/67 NOS German made "Alpha 3" with integrated radio aerial)
The mirrors are obviously not "GT" mirrors but this is of course ME building a car here so they are EXACTLY what I need, and have been looking for...... weren't cheep though at $175 (the guy was asking $290)
I also recently purchased a twin down draft manifold for the Gemini motor in the that's in my blue 69 sedan.
This motor will get pulled out and will go into either "Jenny" or a 67 sedan I now have (haven't decided which one yet, but which ever one gets the Gemini motor, the other will get the twincam)
The manifold will get a good clean then just need to fit a set of down drafts and I will be that much closer to getting my hoon on
