Expressions of interest for a crooooze?
next question is when? anyone interested reply with dates you are available.
how long day or a close overnight stop at a country pub 200km total? for o/night maybe

Another suggestion is with cheap interstate air fairs around i was thinking if people want to fly into brissie we could host a weekend crooooooze with a o/night stay at a pub croooooze sunday put you on the plane home? We show you our bit of the world and then you show us yours.

don't know? do you want a day or weekend if it is a weekend i would only work on 300km round trip ? I ran a trip to stanthorpe last year visited a few wineries a cheese factory back to a motel for happy hour trying our samples wines and cheeses catch a bus to rsl for dinner and look around town sunday morning b4 heading home. A haunted house in warwick this would be easy to run as i have reckied it. It would be modified to the 1st trip as we went to inverell as it was along weekend. wasp65 has done some of it.

Stanthorpe is right up my alley. I love the place.
It's where I use to go camping at least twice a month in years gone by as my bro inlaw's mum (bush mum) lives there. She used to live on a 60 acre apple orchard at Applethorpe near the areodrome (doughnut pad central) but has now moved out on the road to the Storm King Dam. Would give me a chance to see her again and have cuppa and a chat.
We could have a picnic lunch out at Donnelly's Castles between wineries or even go out to Bald Rock for a climb (bit of a hike though). Would have to be a weekender crooooze for sure.
I've always got the swag in the car so I'm already packed to go and its only a 3.5hr drive (4.5 in Donkey atm)

Hell yeh! Stanthorpe has my vote

If you don't mind a few dirt roads and some billy goat climbing country, we could go out to Numdubermere Falls (my old camp spot) for a swim. Serious billy goat country though and not exactly the easiest of climbs to the falls and back.

Plenty of things to do n see at Stanthorpe and surrounds.

Yeh sorry about that Geoff, got a little over excited just thinking of the place. The falls aren't exactly the day trip sort of place to go unless your prepared to go there ALL day.
Great place for fishing if you have the local know where/how (which I do) and catch a coupla Murry Cod which are absolutely devine when cooked murrie style on open flame with eucalypt, wattle blossoms and native bee honey rubbed in its guts. Wash that down with a Jim Barnes magic brew (EX Heritage winery 96 Cab Sav) and spend the night sitting by the fire watching stars and telling tall tales. DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER!!!!

Still in all, Stanthorpe is the place to go.
Heaps of wineries between Thulimbah and Balindeen (approx 37 now) and country side to boot. I think the apple blossoms should be about due to start soon too, if so it will be pretty as a picture whilst between pit stops.

A day trip is as good as a wink and a wink is as good as a nod. 27th is cool.
To keep the booze crooooze theme going maybe we could drive to Sirromet winery for lunch or something.

Both options are great drives.
Although option 2 is a little more fun with all the hills and corners and better scenery in my opinion, but I'll go where ever the general consensus decides.
New uni's, rebalanced tailshaft and resleaved front slave cylinders will be in this arvo so I'll be good for anywhere.
