hi folks,
Wondering about the heater fan in a '67 1500 4 door bellett deluxe. Does it have a fan at all or is it the through draft that pushes any interior heat in with no heat when car is stationary ?
thanks, jeff Scotland

Hi Jeff,
They have a fan heater that has a large oval rubber gasket that connects to underside of the fresh air box, and are switched from a second lever in the control box under the dash, that is activated with a push pull action.
Hope this helps.
Regards Geoff

I suspected as much, amongst my parts was a second heater control panel, this one had the push pull fan control, I have put it in the car but have yet to find and install a fan

Jeff, I've got most of Rolie's innards in my shed. I wonder if GT Orph can remember what sort of heater he had, because you're welcome to it if it's any good.

I think Rolie's set up was a core only without the fan style

Yep, that's how the fan boosted unit should look. For Aus delivered cars though, these are pretty uncommon. Story is that imported cars were required to have a percentage of Australian content. 'Standard' cars had no heater, but many were fitted with a non-boosted unit as a dealer fit (along with radios, carpets & DeLuxe badges) to bring this content up. They called this "DeLuxe equipment". This changed in 1968 as the boffins changed the rules to allow full imports. Then you could buy a 'Standard' or a proper DeLuxe with the stainless window frames, etc.
For '67 & earlier, to get a boosted heater you had to find a fully imported DeLuxe. Some were brought in , and 'Doris' is one of them. She is my '66 teardrop auto DeLuxe.
Cheers, Matt.
