Yesterday I took my Bellett for a little fang up the Hume Hwy to what I thought was going to be a little country car show. When I arrived I was quite surprised to find that it was actually a really big country car show with live entertainment, bouncing castles and face painting for the kids and about 500 cars for all of us tragics to drool over. The weather was perfect and all the cars were looking awesome.
I was lucky enough to run into a couple of other forum members Cheryl and Gricey and have a really good chat to them, I also ran into a few people that were involved in Bellett Colt dealerships back in the day. One of the guys that I was talking to was a neighbour of 1 such dealer Pat Crea and he had a lot of really interesting stories and first hand knowledge of the cars from back in the day. He was telling me that he had a lot of memorabilia and photographs from back in the day but unfortunately it was all lost along with his house in the bush fires in Kinglake a couple of years back.

Around lunchtime I was joined by my family for a picnic behind the Bellett and another quick look around the cars.

At the end of the day we hung around to watch the presentations as I was quite interested to see who had won the trophies in the bike section as I plan on showing my old Enfield next year. Well low and behold while I standing around I heard the guy on the stage mention some thing about a Bellett. Yes my car had won Best presented Race Car!!!!!! I was actually really embarrassed as I still get really excited when some one takes a photo of my car.
So in the end it turned out to be a really memorable day.
