1965 - July - Wheels Magazine (Aus) - 1965 Bellett project

The Bellett received plenty of press during the 1960s and it was always better when the Bellett featured on the full-colour front cover!
Here is a scan of the "We start Project Bellett" article from Wheels Magazine from July 1965.
The car must have been fairly new as it was a 1965-spec car (no spear through the '1500' badge and the badge is not all-black). No holds barred, the people at Wheels Magazine fitted a set of extractors, a hot cam, twin carbies and a choice set of chrome stockies!
The article has been scanned fairly large so you can read it clearly. Unfortunately the first and second pages of the article have a picture of the Bellett that stretches between the two pages and as a result that picture is quite distorted. I'm not about to un-stitch my magazine, so it will have to do.
I wonder if DAS-111 still exists? Probably not given the final line of the article; 'Oversteer is the final characteristic, but everything can be corrected with small steering deflections and MORE POWER'!

What's strange is that I think they didn't actually do a 'Stage 2' on this car; eg continue the next month with more mods.
I think they did another article which they called 'Stage 2' a couple of years later on a 1966.5-spec car (alloy grille, hex tail lights) but I don't have a copy of that one.
If anyone has it, please scan it (high quality - good enough to fit just under the width of the page; it doesn't need to be bedsheet-sized!) and post it!

BUMP!
Just found this buried deep in Bellett.net... I posted this around the time we started and before we kinda had the section for vintage magazine articles.
Scan is nice and big and it's no longer buried 28 pages deep! Enjoy!
Cheers,
Dave
