Is anyone seriously interested in the GT?
I have had the cars there looked at today by a friend over there who might

be bidding on something on my behalf.
Halvies in a 40ft container? That is if i don't buy 2 cars.....

Is anyone seriously interested in the GT?
YES
but the logistics are unknown to me to bid and get transport etc. It seems to be not far from Christchurch.

Providing you can get someone to store it for you until you get approval to import , no big deal to get it here. Christchurch would have a port.

Glenn i would suggest a towie over there to pick it up and store it for a couple of weeks in a holding yard. I am in the towing industry and have a contact that is very active on a tow forum that might be able to help with his nz contacts

I cant see the car is going to create much interest.

I have made contact with a ex employee that is a moderator on a tow forum and he has 2 contacts in christchurch that he will pm tonight, he is confident that they will be able to assist.

Thanks for the assistance but i think i will have to pass.
There is not enough time to arrange to phone bid i think as they would probably want some ID or deposit perhaps.
Plus although the GT looks to be generally ok, i think the potential damage in the top of the A pillar area puts me off.
While certainly fixable, i just won't have the time to have it ready for Merimbula by the look of the work needed. It's had a colour change too and the mechanicals will probably need a going over.

Thanks p_s, but trying to get finances sorted...I won't make it in time, otherwise I'd drop a bid on the Saab!

Glenn - Got your pm mate - but can't pm back - too few posts i guess? pm me your email and i will reply.
I have another inspection organised tomorrow of the car/s i am interested in. My contact lives 20 minutesaway from venue and has a business in Christchurch. He knew the 'hoarder' personally until he passed away - He was a Japanese fella! He and another friend are bidding on Sunday on my behalf on at least 1 car - and, no not the Bellett!! Interestingly i received some photos of a car that is also being auctioned that has not been listed on the auction list

. It is not likely to be of any interest to anyone here, so i won't mention it until i have my crack at it!!!
I have previously bought one of my cars over from NZ - 20 Foot Container was $2,415 NZD. A 40 footer is more economical obviously if more than one car.
Local broker costs, customs and AQIS cost me $1600 AU as the car needed a very good blast inside and out!
I can probably request further pics if required - but will have to call NZ in the morning, so let me know...
The auctioneer sounds co-operative. I can tell you that everything you see is, as i understand No Reserve, and has to go.
Logistics aren't really that bad. I've done it several times, and also organised for some cars to go back to Japan (in the process again as we speak). There would be delays though. Importing is generally not a problem if it is pre '89 and not highly modified. Application to import is $50 through Department of Infrastructure.
I'll try to get a few more posts up

so i can pm you also.
Auctioneer sounds more than co-operative (nt that i have spoken to them,as i am leaving it to my kiwi buddies).............

Good talking to you Chris...
Wasn't expecting more pics of the Bellett at all - and don't know anything further about the A-pillar areas as previously mentioned!
Just received a few more pics...Don't know much more about the Bellett's other than the pics - but apparently 'a picture tells a thousand words'????
