some of us just mow the lawn or paint the spare room or tune up the old cars.

but others get right into it.

not many of these about and even less of them being raced with a RB20 under the bonnet.

Sweet! I've been meaning to ask Ross how he went!

It's not on fire and the turbo appears to be pumping air INTO the engine rather than sucking it out, so I'll assume well!

Cheers,

Dave

Yep OZ, it was the sort of day you had to skip mowing the lawn and get yourself trackside or even in the pit area. And that's exactly what we did. Great to catch you and Josh there flying the Isuszu flag.

This is the first time this event has been run in SA. It exeeded any expectations and resembled a mini Goodwood Revival. The sights, smells and sounds of yesteryears race cars in all sorts of categories, from early open wheelers to earlier GP, 60's and 70's sports sedans, some moderns, and early muscle beasts flexing their horse power around a shortened version of the V8 supercar track.

Also, there was a large static display of very, very rare machinery to enjoy with the back drop of the old race course grandstand, echoing with the wonderful era sounds of the Aussie Airforce big band in full swing....AWESOME.

As for Ross, one of the slower and quieter of the cars circulating, but put in a few good sessions after a slight intercooler hose join failure in the first run. And yes there was some smoke :P ;)

Some photos of rare stuff, enjoy.
