Brit saying hi!

Hi guys.

I'm over in southern England -with an eclectic collection of daft old motors.

However-I've 2(potentially 3) Isuzus so thought I should register.

A 65 Bellett saloon -imported from Oz is currently awaiting a little welding (mid winter here, and no spare garage space!!) alongside a (rectangular light) 117-the UK motorshow car.
I've a Florian in Holland too,awaiting payment/collection.

I like/use obscure vehicles and also own 3 early Datties;a 1965 U320, 66 P411 & 67 PL411.

Additionally at home (garaged) are a 37 Standard Flying Nine, Renault 12 van, Fiat 127racer, Fiat 850spider, 65 Renault Caravelle, 62 Ford Taunus Transit (FK1250) 65 FordTransit pickup

Out front the 2 Isuzus, an FSO & a Renault Fregate, Estafette Pickup, Renault 18 ,73 Renault 5, couple of early Saab turbos -and the moderns.

Plus loads more-'barned'.

Happy to chat/help-if Ican....

Welcome aboard Nigel. You really are an enthusiastic bloke importing a Bellett all the way from Oz, but then again it is a 65 model the nicest looking of them all :P .

What part of the Netherlands did you find your Florian in? I lived in Goes for 12 months and asked every body I could about any old Isuzus they may know of and I got the same blank look that most Bellett fans are used to.

Look forward to hearing about your summer rebuild and maybe a few of your non Isuzu cars aswell.

I think I remember your car; it was on eBay and has a set of Datsun Stanza OEM alloy wheels on it.

I also think I saw it on a Japanese classic UK forum I was browsing a few months ago.

Welcome on board! Belletts had a fairly sordid history as I understand over there; a handful were allegedly imported then the importer scarpered with the cash and Isuzu lost out - as a result they didn't bother importing any more.

Well, that's the story I heard anyway. Hopefully you can bring that about and create a new, improved history with a restoration and rejuvanation story!

I think that 117 Coupe is the same that was for sale about two years ago? I was that time asked about that injection problem it had. It has 2-liter twincam? Is the engine working now?

When and if I´m going to sell my Bellett 2-door Sport... should I take contact to you?? :) My "second" car, Jaguar, was driven from England. So it wouldn`t be any problem to drive Bellett fron Finland to England when you even have that tunnel now.

Holland has it´s own Isuzu club and the president is Dick Klinkhamer. We have helped each other with parts. F.ex Dick made me my 1600 Sport -badges. They have good home pages too.

Antti... what's a 2 door sport compared to a GT?? I no this is probabily a really daft question...
