5 speed into a Bellett - gearshift

Hi all. Considering fitting a 5 speed from a 117 DOHC into a Bellett, but without the remote shifter.

Can anybody tell me:
1. if the remote shifter is removed, will a sedan gear stick fit into the 5 speed box (and work) I think it might need a spacer only ?
2. will there be any tunnel clearance issues fitting the 5 speed without remote shifter
3. how far back is the centre of the gearshift 'hole' in a 5 speed and how far back on a Bellett 4 speed? (from front face of the 'box)
ie will stick come out of tunnel in same place?

Anybody got either box in the shed and can measure for me please?

Call me Glenn.
Have done this all before with the box in my Wasp.
But think "Gemini parts".

Near enuf. Wasp tunnel is removable.
Gearstick hole is in exactly the same place.
