Tear Drop Sedan in SA

Hi guys,

Long time no post :)

As a few of you know I picked up the blue sedan from Jeff down here about 8 months ago and I have now come to the sad realisation that I just won't have the time to work on it with my other commitments... So time to clear out some space and sell it on to the next person who can hopefully get it on the road.

This would be a very easy project if you were looking to get it running and on the road as it is complete and has walk in SA rego. Only really needs a weekend on the mechanical, a cut and polish and just drive it.

I'll post some more pics on the weekend once I can get into it but wondering if anyone is interested? I'm looking for $1k with all the bits listed below or $800 to cover costs by itself.

Details:

Good:

1965 Tear Drop Sedan (are we calling these Series I yet ;) )
Walk in SA Rego
Floor shift manual
Blue interior (seats and door cards)
Complete

The Bad:

I have only turned the engine over by hand (no reason to think it won't start with fresh fuel)
Seats need to be recovered but could be hidden
Front valence has been damaged
Front guards are slightly bent
Rust is just starting at the top of the B pillar, but rear quarters seem good and front suspension section is rough.
Left tail light is broken
No key…

But wait, there's more. Also comes with:

Spare Bonnet
Doors
Fuel tank
Grill
Hubcaps
Oil filter adapter bit and fuel pump
Air cleaner

All the bits I accumulated to do this project over the past couple of months…. If no one is interested I'll try Gumtree and if that doesn't work I'll get it running and try again… although by that stage I might keep it ;)

PM me if anyone is interested, I do need the space!

Thanks,
R.

BARGIN!!!!
I wish I was in SA right now as you would have a buyer, but sadly a little too far for me atm as my tow vehicle is too stuffed for that kind of trip.

What condition is the spare grill in??
I'll buy that off ya if its a nice one. I need a nice one for Jenny's rebuild.

Hey Sticky,

I seem to have two spare grills up on the shelf there.

I'll see what happens with the car but will keep you in mind :) I think one is straight and the other is a little.... second hand.

Cool
No pressure or rush for that matter as it will be a while before I need one on the car

Update on this car.

After a heads up from Josh and a bit of digging its come up that the car is currently defected however it was done for tires and nothing else.

Good news is that once on the road it just needs to be taken to a station, or regency for a check up. Thank fully not a full road worthy which is always good :)

Let me know if anyone is keen, I'm hoping to move the whole car and all the spares as one package (thanks to the guys who PM'd for parts but I need all the space!)

Cheers,
R
