Dear knowledgeable Belletters
My speedo works well
My odometer works well
However my trip meter is a bit screwy
Turns
1111
2222
3333
Etc
I had a look inside but it's no easy job to remove the trip meter and a real risk of stuffing the speedo completely
I am thinking 'live with it as it ain't so bad'
Thoughts?

I have pulled the ODO section apart, its not too hard. Not done the Trip meter though. There are some pictures in my Sports thread.

Yeah, its annoying that many trip merers don't work properly. Sounds like the wind back cable is stuck in as thats how they click back.
Doris' will only wind back to 10 miles, but works normally. Aunty Mary's doesn't click the 10 column, so only counts 9 miles.
There are people that rebuild them, but it costs a bit.
I have a few spare sedan ones.
Cheers, Matt.

Hey Asroc,
I had the same problem with my new Kilometres Per Hour one I installed a few months ago - the trip wasn't working and I put it down to my bad install.
I had another go at it the other day because it was frustrating that it was not working - I fiddled with the reset/rewind knob on the dash and found a sweet spot, while I was driving (be careful) and it started working!!
See how you go mate.
Neil

Disassembled trip meter
was really stuck, no way it was going to free up any other way
Fairly straight forward, just keep every little piece in order

My ODO was the same. essentially seized on the shaft with dust and crap.
