SUNDAY 27 September - Bay to Birdwood Classic
Posted: Thu May 28, 2009 11:57 am
Hi people,
This event is going to be truly awesome; there are always some great cars on this 1900-vehicle event, but there's never enough Belletts!
Well 2009 is time to change that!
BAY TO BIRDWOOD CLASSIC (http://www.baytobirdwood.com.au)
Sunday 27 September
6:00am (damn)
About the Classic:
This event is open to registered and roadworthy vehicles built before 1978 that are unmodified or modified within the spirit of the period. If the mods aren't strictly period items but the car still looks standard then you can still get away with it.
This event is a full day stretching from about 6:00am and rarely finishing before 5:00pm once the return journey is completed (around 70km each way), so budget a full day of fun! With around 1800 cars to look at, plus the 400 or so more in the Museum, a full day is never even enough!
How to enter:
!!!***Entry to this is separate to the Bellett Nationals***!!!
Entry fee: $50.00 per car
The entry fee includes full access to the National Motor Museum and surrounds for as many people as can legally fit in your car! Lunch is not provided on this day. See bottom.
To get an entry form you MUST do one of the following:
Download and print a form from:
http://www.baytobirdwood.com.au/2009entryform.pdf
Contact the organisors and request a form be sent to you:
Call: 08 8258 6547
Email: [email protected]
The benefit of getting the full entry pack is that it includes info on the Cruising Classics festival that occurs either side of the Bay to Birdwood Classic.
The Cruising Classics festival includes events like the Gawler Swap Meet on the 20 September and the Mainline Drive-In night on Monday 28th September, plus a stack more, so if you’re around for a few days that may be worth checking out. More details at:
http://www.baytobirdwood.com.au/cruising.html
Breakfast and Lunch:
You will need to organise your own food for Sunday. If you are organised, you could take your own breakfast or picnic! Alternatively, breakfast is usually available for purchase from a Lions Club tent at the Adelaide Shores form-up area, while lunch is available from any number of vendors at Birdwood.
On the day:
More info will be provided once you’re at the Nationals, but if everything goes to plan, we should have our own featured section for the mighty Isuzu Bellett!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
If you do not enter your car in the Bay to Birdwood Classic, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PARK WITH US inside the venue. Furthermore, you will need to pay a separate entry into the venue for all people (unsure of price – usually about $15.00 per person).
ENTERING THE BELLETT NATIONALS
DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY GIVE YOU ENTRY TO THE BAY TO BIRDWOOD
Bay to Birdwood Classic entries close 14 August 2009.
They do NOT accept late entries EVER!
