Great work, and there is enough stock/supply of these discs worldwide.

Hi Marc,
Great picture indeed, would be great if you manage to replicate the japanese number plate too!
About the 1.45 s : if I can remember well you were doing 2 minutes + on Good Wood in the beginning?
That is a big step

Re: Wanted, info on G180SS valve clearances
Hi Glenn,
The inlet clearance on the SOHC 1600 and 1800 is:
In - cold is 0.101 mm
Out - cold is 0.151 mm
There s no rattle, but a kind of rhythm is always there.

Re: Several new water pumps
Hi Barrie,
Do you have a 1600 SOHC engine or a OHV 1600 engine?
I guess it is the OHV which looks like the 1500 and Florian 1600 engines.
In that case these pumps will fit.

Re: Several new water pumps
Hi Matt, so you found a Sport? Is it a 2 or 4 door?
In Europe we have 5 Sports of which 1 is a 4 door (with 68 front and 69 strip light rear).
Together with Glenn’s and yours makes a total of 7. Or are there more?

Several new water pumps
I was in the possibility of buying some brand new water pumps and gaskets for the G150 G160 engine. Off course I do not need them all: so I wonder if you guys down under are in need for some pumps too. See the pics

A bit more symmetry this way? One of the seven beauties ...
I think the primary function of the hose, from bowl to intake, is to vent the bowl.
Second function: in case of flooding the engine will stall.

I ve never seen this layout of carbs in Holland. Always the bowles in between. It must be the age of the car: we do not have such an old model with twin carburettor. The metal pipes on the bowles for petrol overflow are metal too and go where to?
We have them in rubber and they go straight in to ...

That looks original indeed, Hitachi probably had 1 type of SU lookalike carb then.

Hi Peter,
I wonder if the carbs were situated like this when you took the engine out?
The petrol bowles should both be in the middle between the carbs?

You must have had an little angel on your shoulder in that corner ! What could have happened in confrontation with that car.
About the race; you are being kept up by these Austins and overtaking them is not easy because they pull up just a bit quicker.
What about braking a little later and get in ...

Re: the life of rolie
I found some Brands Hatch Video / footage on youtube, by a highly prepped Austin A40, who is chasing Mark in Rolie.
Think that Austin must have cost a fortune ...
Have a look at it yourself:

Re: the life of rolie
I' m sure you went to your tuner guy to get the engine in top working conditions, but a possibility could be an ignition which is set a bit too late or mixture which is too lean. I wonder, how much bigger is a chevy luv radiator compared to a bellett?
