Wanted, info on G180SS valve clearances

Post by Glenn »

Hi All
Myself and another G180SS engine owner are looking for clearance specs for inlet and exhaust valves.

Any other similar info would also be nice.

I have the PR60 Sport owners manual and lot's of specs in there but all in Japanese and so far can't decipher what the clearances are, if they are indeed given.

Mark, in UK I assume must know, and some of the Euro group too.

Hi Glenn,
The inlet clearance on the SOHC 1600 and 1800 is:
In - cold is 0.101 mm
Out - cold is 0.151 mm
There s no rattle, but a kind of rhythm is always there.
Gr Dick

I scanned a section of my PR60 owners handbook with a Japanese to English translate Ap.

While I had no doubt of Dicks info, it was neat to try the scan and see what it did. (google translate Ap on my phone)

The clearances are tight aren't they?....don't forget if you're running anything other than a standard cam you might want to open them up a bit.
After two munched cams and much head scratching we opted for 0.23 ex and 0.18 in.....and it seems to be working pretty well.

Hi Mark, I'm no mechanic and to be honest, have never adjusted clearances my self. But the numbers above did seem 'tight'. Sorry to hear 2 cams paid the price.
