Hi from Indonesia

Post by ubs_lover »

Hi, my name is Andy from Indonesia

I own 1984 Chevrolet (Isuzu) Trooper. I really love Isuzu, so when I restored my Trooper I re badge it with Isuzu's emblems and badges.

I've read this forum a lot, it very helpful. Specially when I traced the history of Isuzu's SUV.

I found that the first Isuzu's SUV is Isuzu Unicab, and its related to Isuzu Wasp and of course Isuzu Bellet. ;)

Therefore, I made my version of Isuzu TimeLine that shows Trooper's relation with other Isuzu products.

There's still so much things that I didn't know about Isuzu specially Trooper/Bighorn, with joining this site I hope that I can get (and shared) many information about this lovely vehicle.

I'm thinking of restorating an Unicab right now, just have an information that a friend had one in his garage.

Regards,
Andy

Hi Andy,

Belated welcome to the site!

Definitely get your hands on the Unicab. If you find any more information about the history of them, I'd be very interested!

From what I've read they were assembled in the Philipines, from what I assume were fully imported, bare Wasp chassises, however I've got a few brochures showing them in Japan, plus I've seen pics of them in Japan, so I can only assume they were built there too!

If you find out more and if you secure that one in your friend's shed, let us know!

Cheers,

Dave
