Disc caliper identification.

Hi everyone!
I wonder if any of you are able to identify the calipers fitted to my Florian, Aunty Mary?
They came already fitted up and look like they were meant to be there with no signs of modification. They look as though they bolted straight up.

They are a simple single piston with sliders, which are free. They use DB85 pads, which I have a new set of.

My problem is that lately the left piston has been has been binding. This has caused the inner pad to drag a little, which has worn away the pad. Despite a fair bit of force, I can't get it to retract.
I'm off the road until I identify the caliper and get a kit.

Some cars using the DB85 pad are:
Corolla 79-83 KE70 van,
" 79-83 TE72,
Mazda 73-76 RX-3 & 72-79 808
Lancer 79-81 Hatch & 74-80,
Sigma 77-78,
Colt 80-82,
Galant 74-77.

Matt, I stand corrected but looking at my my old sedan pictures, the caliper appears to be the same, ie Sigma. My rotors are round though but i think the type you have were also on some cars or maybe the Galant.

Might be best to get another confirmation also though. Brett will know but he is going the Jap day today i think and probably on the way or getting ready. I am off also soon.... to look.

Glenn, thats a start, I'll try googleing some images, but as we're on satellite & my monthly data is used up, things happen pretty slowly.

Kerry, yes that's what John said at first, but then he wasn't sure. He thought they might be GT Bellett ones, but they're clearly not.

(The wheel bearing is way smaller than Florian or Bellett too, which is why I thought maybe Corolla.)

OK, some pictures of my early sedan with Sigma disks. You can see the caliper looks the same as yours.

I think some Galants had same setup but the 'cutoff' type hubs. Need confirmation of that.

yep, is the GD Galant version of them.
the hub was slightly different, but used the same caliper as the early Sigma.

My Mitsu dealer said it's probably GE ('77) Sigma, but the genuine kit is obsolete.
But Autopro said all DB85 padded Sigmas used the same caliper. Kit should be in Wednesday - $35. Hopefully, all good.

I have both type of callipers and they both take db85 pads and both fit what I think a Galant disks. A couple of weeks a go I walked in to my Local Autopro to order some Galant disks and apparently they are no longer available through any of there sources. The funny part was I asked the young girl what options were available for early Galant disks and she said there are heaps you will have to have a look at the computer, she was referring to the real early Galant 1994 model Im sure 1994 wasn't that long a go






While we are on the subject of brakes. Does any one out there have a template for the calliper carrier bracket used with the TP Magna brake conversion?????

Glenn are those the bolt on type rotor or a top hat type that go over the hub.

So, I got the kit, ripped off the caliper. The piston was so tight I had to shock it out between two blocks of wood. (Pedal pressure wouldn't budge it!)
Trouble was the outer seal had a small hole pierced in it which had let moisture in. The housing had rusted up & the piston jammed in the rust. (It did sit for 12 years.)
A quick hone, kit fitted, and good as new. New pads in & it stops like ........ like a car with brakes on it!

Kit number is K861S : Caliper kit MM 50.65 : Mitsubishi Colt, Galant. Toyota.
