kind of expensive for a bit of steel. Me thinks his estimate of what they cost him to have made is over the top too.
all the more reason i think to look at replacing the whole brake package.
Like the TP Magna conversion. I am still investigating this (another thread here) I went back to see about getting the rear disks etc fom the car in the wreckers to find an almighty gap in the yard...... they had the crushers in and removed about 100 cars, including 'my' TP donor car ! BUGGER.

Doing some cleaning up and found and old Mazda DIY book. Quite surprised to see that the disk brakes are very similar to GT's. Calipers have internal piping but the PADS look like GT though.
Rotor is similar size, even the hub appears like it might interchange with GT ???
Maybe the seal is same size as GT ?
The chances of finding one of these cars in wreckers is pretty slim though, but pictures show the similarities.

I wa wondering if the disk or hub etc might be adaptable. The disk might be listed with DBA etc while GT is not.

Not sure, but Greg had some brake pipes made the other day and they told him that one model Mazda used the same fitting as the front caliper of GT.

This one has been bugging me for a while.
How do you keep the brake lining (friction puck) from falling out of the brake caliper, without the brake pad backing plate (the flat steel plate that the brake lining is glued to and has the little holes for the pins that hold it in the caliper)?

I think Brett is talking of the large round backing plates behind the whole disk brake assembly.
