interesting collection of Car and bits. Most of which appear to have been left out in the weather for some time. Pity.
Even a SOHC engine in there too.
Somebody has bid on it alreday...... maybe somebody from this group ?

the condition is a real pity.

also a real question as to just exactly what he does have and the photos arent detailed enough to tell.

The guy wants 10 to 12k for it. Says it has had that spent on it. Have mentioned to him about the grey gt that went on ebay for 13500 and that I thought he may get 2 to 3k bids if he's lucky and said that i hope he gets some good bidding on it. His respose was that it can stay sitting in the backyard. Does look to be a half reasonable body to me but you would want to have plenty of spare GT parts because there will be plenty missing if this one is going to get back to original. Good luck with this one guys.

thinks its already past, left sitting in the yard, as there is no reserve so the highest bidder will get it.

doesnt seem to understand that ebay is a contract bidding, selling system and you need to read the fine print.

doesnt even say he has item for sale elsewhere or he reserves the right to remove it.

strange???

lets see how it goes up up and up

I seem to remember this car in the trading post about 10 years ago for $8000 with a heap of spares ,if it's the car I'm thinking of it used to be red with a silver roof built by one of the original bellett car club members and sold to his nephew who started to rebuild the car and I know there is a heap of good bits with it I beleive the motor was also stroked to 1900 cc I'm tempted to bid on it .

That really is a shame all the lotsa parts are all brown with rust, and in pieces guaranteed there are bits its missing
Even to the shifter hole on the GT gearbox not being covered, there are so many issues going to crop up from being left outside! :(
For an outlay of a few hundred he could have bought at least a car cover and a second hand shed :?
10 - 12K  I think you are right CLAWS 2 - 3K is far more likely, 5k if someone is desperate
But some people have no idea how to value things considering there is a GT available at the moment for the price he wants complete, running and garaged and far more worth the money!! obviously doesnt read the forum :P
If he hangs on to it, it will be a shame to see what it is like in a few years! but there are unfortunately a few cars around in the same situation, the owners value them far more than they are actually worth, some just thinking its OLD its worth LOTS and some just given BAD information!
He can pull the Ebay add even at the last minute with no real reason but then we all know items can jump 1000's in the last few seconds!
It will be interesting to see what happens 8-)
After all that it wont be me bidding as my yard will be full ;)
I hope a forum member can get it for a fair price and bring it back to life! :P

If anybody wins it, I might be willing to negotiate for the SOHC engine if not needed. I need carbs and manifolds for it mainly.

a GT has come up on Yahoo, needs some work etc..... but all in one piece.

There's a car here in Adelaide that's red with a silver roof.... the current owner advertised it in the BCCV club magazine about 5-8 years ago and George Cole got me to go and have a look at it for him.

Rebuilt engine, restored badges and mint original interior only needed paint... but I made the mistake of rocking up in my Bellett GT and he got inspired and decided not to sell. At least that car is in a garage... so I wonder if that car you speak of came to Adelaide or if it is indeed this green machine!

Also, funny how people think cars that are sitting are going to be worth more later. OK, so occasionally that is the case; the muscle car boom of 2006-2009 being a case in point, but a Bellett GT that's worth about $2-3k isn't going to be going up anytime soon, especially if its condition deteriorates!

So the guy would rather have it sitting in his yard taking up space than pocketing a couple of grand for it?!??! He may have spent more than that, but not wisely given the current situation.

The car you have seen is not that car as that car was in a smash and the then owner decided to restore it with all the good bits that came from another gt so if this is the car it should have disc's on the back when I last spoke with the owner heed got the traveling bug so the car had to go so did not get finished it was on the market for years as he was asking big money for it about $8000.00 with loads of spares all left over from his uncle Aurther a collection that started in the 70's this car should also have a gtr box with it as I got the gtr motor but they would not sell me the box as he wanted it for the gt .

Glad the auction goes 10 days, gave me time to think about those parts sitting out in the weather. Too many seized up and rusty parts to cart back to SA. I'm out. Good luck to the winner, sure it will be a good project for someone over there.
