1966 - 01 - Isuzu Bellett GT1600 brochure - Japanese - 14pgs

Wow now THIS is an awesome brochure... and one of my favourites.

This late PR90 brochure starts out with this detail of the PR90 gauges. I really love the delicate needles on these dials...

Also, how is the magic of seeing an odometer at 1.6km? Total? Ever?

Although this brochure is A4, most of the pages feature a double-page spread. This shows it is the later PR90 with the stainless window frames and the 13" wheels.

This will be a great reference to those restoring a PR90; this is what the dashboard is supposed to look like! I am unsure what all the lines are pointing to. That's the disappointing thing about Japanese-spec brochures; no crazy language!

Wow, this is one of the greatest Bellett pics ever, I think. It's the PR90, it's in front of a house that's so post-modern, I think it might crack under the strain and it features a well-dressed Japanese man who is about to open a can of Western whoop-arse and drive to work.... the LONG way! You can see him contemplate the awesome that his key will unleash!

I love that they just plain took the doors off to illustrate the interior....

Although these later PR90s featured the polished rocker covers rather than the rough cast items of the earlier cars, the power is still rated at 88PS.

Some of the pics have been pinched from an English-language brochure (or vice versa) which you can see here:

Here is the earlier PR90 brochure with the 14" wheels:

(ignore the first pic; it's put up for comparison)

The last three pages are specs, power graphs and the like... but I've got to hit the hay!

Nengo date is Showa 41.1, which is January 1966!

Hey Dave,
Really cool brochure. I haven't seen that exact one. Love the PR90 grille 8-)
Did you know..Isuzu engineers achieved 3 more horsepower from the engine by moving the air intakes up
horizontal for cooler air aspiration....and there is actually PR90 series 1 , 2 and 3.
I own a series 3 which was fitted with a 5 bearing engine and later type starter motor.
That explains their forward thinking with two starter motor installation ports on the
transmission bell housing!

There you go!

I knew there was at least two series, as the earlier items got that dodgy looking cast rocker cover, body painted window frames and 14" wheels with those big, domey wheelcovers. Unsure of how many of them hit Australia, but it's possible DUN999 was the only one.

The one I sold CLAWS would have been from the later batch also. It never came with a motor so I can't say if it was 3-bearing or 5-bearing.

Any idea how to tell the series 2 and 3 PR90s apart?

Good thing you love that grille.... you're one of the few who get to polish one!

Cheers,

Dave
