Hi I recently bought a 67 Isuzu Bellett GT , but the car is in a really bad shape and disassembled, but some parts are missing! I'm from Portugal and this isuzu model wasn't commercialized here, so it's very difficult to find the missings parts. I've searched on the web and then I found this amazing forum ! I need your help!

Welcome to the forum! Hopefully we can get you the help you need. Parts are scarce for the Bellett GT everywhere in the world, but I'm sure the members of this forum will be as helpful as they can be!

We now have people from over 12 different countries; you are certainly the first from Portugal! We hope you can show us some pictures of your machine!

The car arrived yesterday...it´s really bad, looks like a suisse cheese!

Exterior and interior parts are missing...bumpers, seats, Steering Wheel damage without the wooden circle, center console, door handles, etc, etc, etc.

The body of the car is really bad, many years in the street at the rain...it's really rusty and with so much holes In the pillars to the roof top, the has big holes. I'm going to take some pictures...I don't know if the restoration compensates...please give me your opinion and help. Thanks

thanks for the confidence dave, the problem is i employ a guy that happens to be a panel beater and very good at making any peice that he needs and the best bit is he is too cocky to say no.if i was to give him that to repair i would say is that possible to fix his stupid reply is if man made man can make it again,then my reply would be fix it.
the next problem when you next walk in to the shed and half the floor pan is unpicked and a sub frame,inner and outer sill missing,and he is belting the $hit out of a peice of steel saying wow.
but he hasnt disapointed yet.
i would post some picks of patches to prove this but i keep getting a invalid request when i try to upload photos.
now everyone knows why its called patches.

Welcome from Portugal. Unfortunately, that looks pretty totalled. But "orphanage" is right. There are artisans out there that can rebuild panels (or anything auto) for a price. And I'm sure there are spares of variuos bits floating around bellett world that people can help with.

When the car arrived I was shocked...I only saw the car by pics, and it doesn't seem so bad. Yesterday I cleaned all parts and stored them...but right now I don't know what to do with the body of the car. I need to clean the interiors and the rust. I need a centre console with the fan bottons, etc. :S

There's no denying there's a lot of work there; like a LOT of work!

But therein lies the problem when the car is rare; how junked is too junked to fix? It's a hard question to answer and probably one that varies from country to country and continent to continent.

If you can't do the work yourself (and I myself don't know how either) then things get expensive. This might be a good opportunity to get some panelbeating and welding experience! Plus it's not like you can possibly make it worse (no offence!).

Once the body is in order and looks like it's ready, then source some of the bits that are missing. I dare say you'd have to settle for a sedan grille at the very least as the GT items are hard to come by! But as well people might be reluctant to sell or send parts when the body is so bad, because if you lose inspiration the whole lot might end up at the crushers in a few years, including some perfectly good parts you've bought! Sounds crazy, but these things do happen.

Certainly some committed work on the body will dispel any notion that you may run out of steam and just chuck it out! But if you can source another body, that might ease the heartache somewhat.

there is no shassis number plate it is stamped into the body in engine bay jst below wiper motor cheers rod

Great to see you flying the Bellett flag in Portugal. Yes, you do have some rust, but I have seen plenty of worse cars brought back, and not all high value ones either! It is a love job though, allways. I have one that is actually rustier (!), but it is a parts car. It is fairly stripped, and everyone that has seen it has said "that's too far gone", But I still won't trash it, 'cause it's still a G.T.
Must post some photos sometime, just to illustrate.
I wish you patience and determination, my friend. Please let us know how you go, and as Dave says, we may be able to help with bits as you need them.
