There's gotta be room, for a Sport!

Post by Farmer »

Hello friends.
It is with great pleasure I reveal that I'm now the owner of a rare little car, a PR60 Bellett 1800 Sport. I'm very grateful to Dean, who made me an offer I couldn't refuse, and who had bought the car from Glenn, who imported it a few years ago.

It is true that I have a few cars in need of my time, but I reckon this one will jump the queue, it's just so rare, and will be a comparatively easy prospect.
Here are a few pics....

2 door sedan! So practical, with enough headroom for my hat!

Yeah, it's got the mask grille, final generation '72 model.

Huge Legoland tail lights.

Very GT spec. Plenty gauges.

Has a GT ratio gearbox, but with sedan gearlever, and a nice little console.

You reckon I'm excited?? You reckon right.
:D Matt.

Exactly right Kerry mate! All but the driver's seat, but I'll work something out. Unfortunate, because the passenger's is good, and the headrest for the driver's is there.

Ahh, one will turn up!
Thanks mate.

Well done Matt,
I remember seeing this car at Deans when I purchased the GT. Good to see she is finally going to get some much needed TLC, good on you for taking on the project.
Regards
Peter

Yeah, I'm pretty excited.
The motor is an unknown, missing the carbs.

Hi Farmer
Just curious those headrests do they have Bellett embossed into the rear section?

Hey there my flying friend, yes they do mate. So I'm keen to find another seat. Found one on Yahoo auctions, but the freight was going to be about $1200. And they wouldn't unlock the auction anyway. One will turn up!
Cheers, Matt.

Is the frame the same width as the GT Reclining seats?

Sorry about the slow reply. The seat back is a similar width, but quite a bit thicker at the top. Where the GT seat comes to a point across the top, the Sport one is about 100mm thick. The headrest posts are 200mm apart at the centres.
Cheers, Matt.
