Calendar anyone?
Something I organise every year for my Rootes group (Hillman Humber Sunbeam) friends around the world is a calendar featuring Rootes cars. I do this using pictures contributed by various Rootes owners, and the calendar is printed by Lulu publishing in the USA - the benefit of using Lulu is that they will print any number of calendars from one upwards, so there is no need to print hundreds and try to sell them.
The calendar itself is A4 size, spiral bound, full colour, page per month, drilled to hang on a wall and printed on very good quality light card. Cost is about $20 per copy landed in Australia - this includes NO profit for me, I do it for fun and for my mates (and because I like collecting car pixs).
This is a link to the pictures I used in the Rootes 2011 edition.

So, would there be any interest in this group for something similar, using pix of your Belletts, Wasps etc? If so, let me know and I'll start organising one. I would need 13 pix (1 for the cover) in digital format and of fairly good resolution for printing (over about 4 megapixels will work OK). I have Photoshop and can adjust images. Technically, for copyright purposes, you should own the pic.
Let me know
Cheers, Vic

Re: Calendar anyone?
Sounds good. My sis, Monn, made me one for christmas once using "Snapfish" that came out really nice. She used photos from the '08 Nationals. The '10 Nats are coming up in 3 weeks - could provide some choice material. We could send you a bunch that you could select from, thus avoiding any favouritism!
One for us please.
Thanks for the offer,
Matt.

Re: Calendar anyone?
OK! looks like we have plenty of interest to make this a goer.
Next step is to start sending me your. Please send them to [email protected] - that saves my home ISP getting overloaded. Matt, I note that you will be taking some at the Nationals in a few weeks time, so I'll wait for those. In order to get the calendars in plenty of time for Christmas it would be good to have all pix by about 5 November.
I will prepare the pix for the publisher, then upload them to the Lulu site to create the calendar on their template. I'll also put up small versions on Photobucket so you can see what's coming. When this is done I'll ask you for definite orders/numbers. There are savings for buying in bulk, and also postage savings, so it's best for me to buy a bulk order and redistribute them around Australia. This also saves you all having to set up a Lulu account. When the calendars arrive, I will work out the final cost and let you know (I should be able to get them to you for about $20 including local postage - possibly less). You can pay me then - direct deposit in my bank account will be fine.
Cheers, Vic

Re: Calendar anyone?
I'd be up for a copy, but can't contribute with a picture (distant admirer, not an owner). Please let me know when you're ready to go.
PS: Nice H120 Rapier in the Rootes pics...maybe I should add one of those to my wanted list!

Re: Calendar anyone?
OK, A couple of you have sent me pix (very good too, thanks to Mudgee and Tassie) but I'm hoping to receive some more soon. The sooner I get them the better, partly because I still have to work for a living and so my time is somewhat limited
One thing I forgot to mention - if there is a particular month (like your birthday/anniversary) that you would like your car to appear in, please let me know - I will try to accomodate it.
At this stage, there are 10 months and a cover to fill ........ Pls send pix to [email protected]
Cheers, Vic
