Stanmore Auto Services has been cleaned out!

All the water pumps went to Australia and I am told there is no longer any in New Zealand

Hey guys,

A friend of mine managed to track down another water pump. It's a NOS pump made by GMB.

The Part number for this is GWIS-13a like the ones stanmore autos had in stock. But it says it is for a G161 engine.

Can anyone confirm if the G150 and G161 share the same waterpumps?

just handed to me (literally 2 minutes ago!) by 'toomanybelletts' is a rebuild kit for the 3 bearing engine.
brand is: ASAHI.
part no: "kit" R-200.
to suit: bellett gasoline. 1964-66. PR10 & 30, KR10, KR10V (G130). PR20 & 80 (G150).
box is green and red, with white writing.
came via yahoo auctions in japan. approx $80 plus freight.

also shown on the box is another part no, stating "pump" P-200.

while this is for the early engine, it gives a starting point (ie: brand name, part number reference, look of the box, etc) to chase details for the later 5 bearing pumps and/or rebuild kits as well.

cheers.

I learnt today the differance between the water pumps backing plates. The plate on the back of the pump in the 5 bearing engine bolts complete with the plate supplied to the block. In the wasp 3 bearing the block has a plate the sits behind the timing gear that bolts to the block this plate also is used for engine mounts, generator as well as the water pump backing plate. We will remove the plate supplied with the pump and bolt it on to Walter the wasps engine plate.

Has anyone fitted an Asahi R200 pump? They look totally different to a standard G150/G161 pump, so I'm hesitant to hit the 'buy now' button on Import Monster. Are they suitable?
