oz the engine is painted in holden orange vht pressure pack. Its not a fresh engine just the old one that was still ok for now. As far as purists are concerned it's all stock other than colour, radiator mod prior to us owning it,front seats and bling. Remember this was a basket case.
Lewis the answer is no. I bought paint for patches and the brand i had was not one of my panel shops choice so the race car got it,it was blue any way.
wedding car's are the maroon, patches, and isabell. maybe yours,or Gerry's on standby if all goes bad.
Patches was painted today the outside is a little lighter than the engine bay as there was no pearl used in the engine bay. It was a overcast day today and when i took the photos it was under the booth lights,It has a strong silver pearl and shows up grey/silver colour when its close to a sky blue at i hope it will
Another great read, never get tired of reading and seeing the progress on a Bellett
Sure should get one motivated and into gear,if anyone has a project eg Pinky "no
time" is no excuse Luv the colour can't wait to see more Gerry
Great work Greg getting this long project to this stage! Its a relief to get the final paint on.
Patches and my Rufus will have to stay out of the sun for fear of turning silver
Lewis.
hi greg bloody great job far from the day you loaded it on your truck to take it away to ..fix it ...reckon previous owner would love to see the shots also cheers davo
I promised Ross i would show him. He dropped in one day when we were stripping it out and thought i was wrecking it. I told him it was safe. I must admit that there was times as you can see when the floor was out and sills missing but i know what we got now.
wednesday to the trim shop for a hood lining and glass then home but it will be a month before i will work on it again work goes nuts for the next few weeks. When i pick it up ol yella heads to the panel shop for a few months probably more. I need to extend the completed project shed before ol yella comes home.
Mmmmmm !! Atlantic ice blue. That's so frik'in cool . For some one like myself who's just a back yard service mechanic, it's always mind blowing how you guys can be so resourceful and creative. Dammit,.....the skills mate
The rust repairs are done at home but it was completed at a panel shop. They get the credit for the finish. The same with ol yella i have cut the rust out and plated it all so i know its all steel but its the panel shops job to get it right in the end.
patches has been getting a little attention here and there a couple of progress shots. making room under the bed for ol yellas bits Lizzies will be doing these one's and before Lizzie makes any comments public patches has a chrome sump and a few little bits of under bling she doesn't understand maybe someone here will. aproaching mid life maybe
fitted the headlight today patches has not got the late model headlight sarounds so i had to make brackets to fit the late grill. This grills is ol yella's so i will remove it now brackets are made. All front electrical work is complete just needs a little tidy up. I had to take a truck to brissie today so droped into the rubber shop and got weather strips and a few bits and completed the bits i did not have. This car has been a long drawn out project but during this time we have imported parts ex japan to do it as best we can. All the outer bits have been redone or new and stored so i will complete the outside fit the new dash and console when the cab is sealed, front and rear windows are in and 1 rear quarter window is fitted. Hoodlining is done i have had a change of heart with the interior so patches seats will go into ol yella so patches might have to wait a little while as ol yella needs funding while the guy's can work on it.
While i was in the shed with most parts that were stored under the bed now on the car Liz decided to have a spring clean out under the bed i have been told no more parts under the bed from now on time for new woman me thinks
