A new dash pad is fitted and the airbrushed woodgrain dash is ready for pick up tomorrow. I finished the steering wheel today.

I had the dash panels out of the convertable that were in the weather for over 20 years and gave them to a guy that airbrushes to see what he could do with them. The reason he got the stuffed one is that if it was a failure it did not matter.
The end result i am happy with the next set will be darker as this was a practise run. We all know what happend to the experimental horn button .

Davo lots of sanding 400 wet n dry/ dry we want the wood dry. glue any loose ends 400 w.n.d. i put a stain on mine but you need to get back to bare timber. The second wheel i did was 2 coats of clear before 1500 w.n.d wet. The 1st wheel i had a couple of rub throughs and had to re stain these bits it. After then each coat 24 hrs apart i did seven coats the last coat idid 1/4 of the wheel dipped the brush in turps ans redid the 1/4 gave a smoother finish.
