Re-Chroming in Adelaide

Post by 2ldohc »

Has anyone had any experience with re-chroming Bellett bumper bars?

Is there anyone in Adelaide that can do it? Do you have recommendations for other places around Australia? What should I be looking for? How much is too much to spend?

Any thoughts from the wider community here would be great as I only want to do this once!

Cheers,
R.

there's a mob over here that craig uses that specialises in bars, including straighting and chroming.
i'll find out who and post it for ya.

a different tact is when i got the one on the wasp done, it was perfectly straight, so i had it done by a mob that chromes shopping trolley's.... yep, trolleys.
think about it... they get bashed and hit everyday, but the chrome survives well, coz they do a different process to the normal chroming method (or so i'm told).
it was a bit more expensive to do, but 16 years on, and it still looks brand new.

Shopping trolleys... good thinking really provided the finish is as good as the day our cars left the factory. Who did the trolley stuff? I'd be interested to price it up through them as well.

Thanks!

2ldohc,
I have not had any work done by these guys but my restoration mate has. They are called REFLECTIONS and their adress is 1/5 Goodall Ave. Kilkenny at the Torrens Rd end. Business phone is 82686808.
It is the yard with all the cars in it. I spoke to them yesterday and they said they are flat out till after Christmas. You could always go and check them out before then, though.

Hey AJ,

Thanks for the info, I was beginning to despair of finding someone who is recommended this side of the next Nationals :)

I'll swing by and check them out one morning on the way to work.

Cheers,

Hi R,
Just remembered there is another place on Northeast Rd. that rechromes and polishes. I drive past alot and always wonder what they are like (quality/prices). I can't find them listed anywhere. But I can swing past on my days off next week and sus them out and get an address for you.

Cheers, B.

Don't forget to take your Bank Manager, you will probably need him to give you mouth to mouth when quoted
