Thought I'd share this little time lapse that I took over the weekend as a mate and I pulled apart a 1966 Bellett sedan (auto) that was destined for the scrap yard.
The car was one owner, which on the surface sounds fantastic... until you realise she couldn't drive, used to park by feel and used the interior to transport shells and sand around... Unfortunately the rust and bog in the rear quarters alone is enough to make it scrap metal and that was before we pulled radiator and looked at the cooling system. The water pump was seized and the alloy (both the pump and thermostat) just turned to powder when we touched them... Then we drained the oil... I have never seen so many chunks in oil so black, neither have I seen so little come out of a car that was 'running' when we got it.
I don't recall what the sump should hold but we only got 1.5L out of this one, the rest had just seeped away.
Anyway, enjoy part 1 and part 2
