I have been asked on a couple of occasions to post where I got my Isuzu keyring from.

great product i have had 2 of these for 2 years now .CAUTION.....DONT SEND YOUR HOEN BUTTONS OVER THERE TO BE REDONE I SENT 2 ONE SEDAN CAME BACK LIKE BRAND NEW ,....THE GT HORN BUTTON (rare as ) CAME BACK WITH A DEAR JOHN EMAIL SORRY THE BUTTON DISINEGRATED IN THE OVEN ...GREAT AND I WAS GETTING IT DONE FOR GREG AT ORPHANAGE ..WHAT WILL I TELL HIM ..IASK ..THE ANSWER WAS ..TELL HIM ITS GONE MISSING IN THE MAIL ..YEA MORE LIKE I WILL GO MISSING IN THE MAIL ..I THINK GREG HAS FORGIVEN ME BY NOW ...APPARENTLY THEY RECOAT THE BUTTONS AND HEAT THEM IN AN OVEN ..ONE OUT OF TWO AINT GOOD ..BUT KEY RINGS ARE GREAT CHEERS DAVO

mmm thanks for the reminder Davo i have been restoring some gt wheels and managed to bring one back from the dead it was delaminated. with insulation tape and wood glue a completeley stuffed wheel for parts and lots n lots of sanding it is alive now all i need is a horn button Dave i now have 4 gt wheels and 2 stuffed ones to play with one day .

Brother Joe glued up a wheel that I got off of 'Farmer'. It wa in a pretty bad condition. We were scrounging the delaminated
pieces from the floor. I shouldn't have said floor. There wasn't one. It was under the car where most of them were. Joe used
zippy ties and are very potent wood glue. The glue he was using to make kayaks. He couldn't find anything to go for the
black insert other than zippy ties again and but joined them. What did you use.??

Good luck on getting a cap. George from Dubbo had a ebay auction and I won it. I suspect it was the original for my wheel.
All the scratch marks lined up and the wire spring had a tip broken off it where a large gouge was on the inside of the wheel
centre.

Good job Joe! I thought that wheel was totally cactus!

And yeah, my pore ole yella doesn't have what most would call 'floor'.
But shes helped a few now,

I used a stuffed wheel for parts. the black strip had bits missing i just trimmed them to suit it took time as the one from the parts wheel is wider but you can sand them back they discolour but the varnish glosses the back.
Dave do you want a piece of black i can post it up if you like.
I had to choose a new yella for my ol yella last week.

A continuous strip would be good to have. Joe used short ties, and there a quite a few joins. He also french pollished it
hoping it would come up alright. Unfortunately it didn'twork. I'll have to strip it back,sand it, and give it a coat of clear.
With the right strip it should be good. I'll pm you my work address.

Dave i will send you some up. Be carefull with it it will snap in your fingers i sanded it to length and shape before gluing it in place and 400 wet n dry to shape it {dry} so the wood did not suck the water up. It will discolour to a grey colour but the varnish will return it to black. It's like a fibreglass. I stained mine then 2 coates of varnish a light rub with 400 wet for a nice smooth surface then another 4 coats of varnish with 1500 wet between coats 24hrs apart. 2000 wet n dry on the alloy and polish after it was painted so the alloy did not stain the wood.
For horn button restoration DO NOT let bullitt's keyring mate within 2000 miles of it ashes to ashes dust to dust R.I.P horn button did he know how rare it was.

I'll treat it with kidd gloves. And I hope I don't break it. Cameron works for the Harley Davidson dealers and the chrome polish works well on the alloy. You use it sparingly. Not lots of. I'll try your method on the wood. "Time & Patience" is the best motto for a vehicle restorer. If you haven't the patience . You haven't the time. And vice versa.
