Um, yep, that would be 2 thoooooouuusand!
It was late ......and I was....excited still...........
Mrflibbles, Aunty Mary is big enough to share the love of more than one fella
Speaking of big, she had quite a few admirers on the day, including one who explained to another who wasn't familiar with the Florian that this was "Isuzu's big, luxury saloon car".
A real nice bloke walked up & said "An Isuzu Florian! I haven't seen a Florian since I sold mine."
He went on to explain that he'd worked at New Guinea Motors, and had bought a '71 model. When he moved to Aus, he brought it with him, he liked it so much. But they wouldn't register it, 'cause 71s weren't sold here, so he represented it as a '69. Then it was OK.
He kept it for quite a few years, but eventually sold it to a bloke who liked it so much he took it with him when he moved to New Zealand. See - plenty of love to share!
And quite a few other walks down memory lane. Allan stayed & talked for a long while until it was time for our parade laps. So I offered him a ride and he looked like this...
Rod (50 Bells) and his dad rocked up just in time to grab the back seat, so 4 up we followed the others out. We kept up with the 117, GTs and sedans, but wooo the bodyroll!! Those are
L O N G corners! I suggested that their presence made Mary sit "nice & flat", so I wonder what they thought she was normally like?

Pulling 70 mph down the straight a couple of lengths off Gary's back bumper seemed REAL fast, (but I'd been doing that up the Hume the day before alongside B-doubles). Fun for all!
Cheers, Matt.
