Bellett net

Post by gricey »

I see $200 going to bellett net. I got on the forum a bit late and not up to how it runs or what it costs . Should we users be donating towards the running costs . Is anyone out of pocket. ? Can anyone fill in the details . Gricey

Hi Gricey, Bellett.net is a great resource, and we all benefit from it. Originally cyber space had to be bought from time to time to keep us able to add stuff without deleting anything. That way no history is lost.
It has changed more recently as Ant has taken charge of the server. He even has a back-up in place to protect against calamity. There are still running costs which we have now chucked in for, and I believe he has forgone some income to make it possible, but he is happy to do it. There are many unpaid hours put in by all the administrators to keep everything clean & functioning correctly, but these fellas do it for the love of the cars & the fellowship it provides. I don't understand it all, :? but am happy that these young blokes are able to, and grateful that the do. :ugeek:

Thank you to all the administrators and to those who bought raffle tickets,
Cheers, Matt.

:D :D :D

We recently had to renew the rights to the Bellett.net domain name, which was a $200.00 fee.

Ant paid it, then myself and Ross paid a third each back to him.

Gary and Monnica have transferred $200 to me and I will pay back the boys, making us not out of pocket once that has been done!

...shucks thanks you.

And to think that this all started when we were semi-drunk and I said "someone should start a BELLETT forum" and I think with Ant's skills and $10.00 each, we had the domain name and the software and it was up and running within hours!

Drinking is good for you*!!!

Cheers,

Dave

* pls note that drinking is not actually good for you

THE BEST FORUM I HAVE HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH, INCLUDING A FORD FORUM, IN WHICH I WAS A MEMBER!! :o

It has brought many of us together, along with the support for the Nationals re generated by the energies of Brett and Steve.
Great stuff Guys and if it comes to a dollar to join to assist in keeping it going to cover costs, I am certain majority of members would be willing to assist! No one expects members to bear the cost as individuals, they spend enough time keeping it clean and functional!! 8-)
Thanks Gents from the Sydney crew!! :D
