Isuzu Wasp spotted in Malta, 2012

Post by dave »

Hey guys,

I was doing a bit of tooling around and found this!

http://www.flickr.com/photos/austin7nut/6959992182/

...it's a Flickr pic of an Isuzu Wasp spotted in Malta in 2012. And it's not in half-bad nick! Here's the picture for posterity, in case Flickr ever disappears...

Tray is massive and even features a kinda Wasp/Bellett rear wheelarch chop. The rail over the sides and top looks like a grab rail! I guess if you've got 27 Maltese children to move, this is the way to do it!

It's nice to know there's still some good ones out there in the world; not just here!

Cheers

Dave

Oh by the way; this one is Diesel! The guy who posted it on Flickr was kinda quizzing his mates and said "all it said on it was 'diesel'", however because of this it's easy to make out the Wasp/Bellett 'Diesel' badge on the side.

Top speed on these is about 105km/h. At least the petrol Wasp (allegedly) will do 120km/h!

Do we name this colour "Maltese Blue" or is it a factory colour?

In all the brochure pics I have, the Wasps were, well, "Wasp Blue".

Later cars of the same generation were beige (Wasp beige???), then I have a brochure with a short-bonnet Wasp with the square-ish lights and that's beige also.

So this MUST be "Maltese Blue"!
