ELVIS Festival. Parkes NSW. 8th Jan 2014.

Hey Dudes and Dudettes, anyone interested in going to Parkes for the Elvis Festival????

I have nominated and been accepted for the Street parade, still not sure if going but I intend too!
IF you are interested, you must nominate on the Elvis Festival web site and you will be notified when excepted!
I am looking forward to it, however will depend if I get too many protests from within the house, I think it would be a good Event, turning back to the Sixties Elvis period!!

Hi Dave,
Went to this festival last year, was a real hoot and have never seen so many Elvises in one spot before, Even went to Church, think is still standing.
A great week end, and if you go, make sure you see the historic museum and car museum, if you are into machinery they have some really rare stuff and 85% of it goes. The car museum has some more interesting stuff, mainly classics. and a lot of Elvis gear from Gracelands, I think is owned by one of the Wiggles, don't quote me on that.

I would think it would be a great day out and the fact I can take the GT is even better.

Back safely after a warm but enjoyable day, WOW some of those people really go into Elvis and they have a lot of fun
The artists which are usually Elvis impersonators, who are quite good at their efforts for Elvis to "live on".

A lot of Yankee heavy metal in the parade, about 30 Classics, they kept us separated by the bands. The crowd was sensational, I received many of the usual comments about Belletts, however in saying one comment in particular stuck out and I missed who said it, all I knew it was a lady, quote, "At last a proper car, A Bellett", the lady cracked me up unfortunately I did not get to see her or meet her, it was an obvious shot at the Yankee heavy metal.

The truck above was chain driven on solid tyres, very interesting.
The banner that went across the windscreen was obviously made to suit the Yankee heavy metal, when placed on the GT it almost went across twice!!
In talking about the Yankee heavy metal, some of those cars are beautifully restored and prepared

There is another festival on each year at Maitland, called STEAMFEST. I went last year to have a look around, and was very surprised to see that they have a car display as well. Maybe you would be interested in that one too. I might even be able to make that one with the Wasp.

Could be very interesting day, give me more details and I will put to the meeting on Australia Day, I will also check out that web site.

I think Marg should have bought you a new pair of glasses last month ( about the 17th, lol). The dates are in big print at the top left of that web page. 12th and 13th of April 2014. From past experience the car display is only on the Sunday though.

LOL. Got that now, however I might be in Bingara at a ICCA Event with the QLD Japanese Car Club, of which some of our Guys with Belletts are involved and will be at CARnivale'.
I might get new glasses this year!!!
