I dont think Dave the owner made it to birdwood, unfortunately He became sick and has had to close his business down where the car was stored. His partner made contact with me and i started passing the word that it was for sale around.
I had a look at the car this arvo after it made the treck to its new home, unfortunately it is not as good as it was last time i saw it, but still a good little car.
im glad its stayed here in South Australia.

Looks great - more pics please. Love the wheels - top of the range pricewise 'back then" , a headache to own (cleaning, keeping them running true etc. ) but were never outdone for looks!

I'm with Kerry on the wheels..... I LOVE 'EM
I searched for ages to try and get a set of wires but could never find any the right PCD or offset
The spokes can sometimes need re-tensioning and tweeking to keep them true but I reckon they're worth the effort...... but should the new owner ever want to part with them  ;)

Great save in South Aust!

Roman has received more than his fair share of knocks and bumps while parked in the workshop storage which was disappointing!
but he has had interior re-trim approx 20 years ago and it was a good job so its still looking good, but the front dash has not fared so well. Cracked and lifted quite badly.
engine bay is Very Original and quite tidy for its age. I do plan to tidy it up some more.
Both of the earth straps to the bonnet are broken!
Small amount of rust in both rear quarters.
Have a full length exhaust to replace the non-muffler on it at the moment. Full straight thru note was nice but too attractive for the boys in Blue. Engine idle was smooth and steady.
Brakes have all been done and the pedal felt firm and high but i will be removing wheels to check.
Not sure if wire wheels will stay, and i have noted your dib's interest Sticky!
Shocks have been replaced, but with Gabriel's??? Pedders Comfort Gas will go in once they soften up (it wont be very long)
May take him to All Jap Day if can sort things out before then.
More photos to come.

OOoo how exciting!

Yeah I remember seeing that same photo that BULLITT saw; think the pic was taken by Mr Flibbles, yeah?

That was the only time I'd seen/heard/whatever anything about that car; nice to see it's entered the fold.

The interior is very, very nice. I wish it was column shift; I would have given my right nut for it!

The wires... well, I don't like wire wheels at all, so if it was mine, they'd be Stickys!

Nice find Oz!!!

The photo was taken by one of the colt guys? Dave from qld chased them down on the phone, and i went and looked at the car at his workshop! sadly the storage in the workshop seems to have added some character lines to it, but overall i think its still a good car and has found another loving home!

Re: New home for Early Series

she is on the way to All Japan Day in SA this year.
quite a bit of time spent on her to get some gear sorted.
new sway bar rubbers fitted (what a bitch of job)
rear shockers were done but fronts stuffed, so they have been done too
brakes all around were sorted by previous owner, so nothing needed there!
exhaust came down from the manifold and stopped under the middle of the car. there was some new piping that came with the car and i harassed the local Sprint Autoparts for 2 new hot dog mufflers and now the exhaust is fitted and running well. sounded super with just one muffler but i reckon the attention would not be worth the hassle......
first drive on stuffed front shocks was interesting, but the motor and gearbox etc sounded good. hope to check fluid of Diff and Gearbox before sunday drive.
quite please overall as when you buy a car that you cant test drive, quite a few things are up in the air as far as noises, synchro in the box, wheel bearings etc ect.
and the wire wheels are off as one has a few wires missing??? reckon they are waiting for the Stickman
will post some more photos soon
