"41 10" diff

Post by PR91 »

Hi all.
Am chasing a diff with the stamping 41 10 on it.
This number is stamped in the casing just under the oil filler plug on the drivers side.
Am willing to pay good cash and freight if u can help me out.
Cheers.

I've inherited a few cars since I last looked, so I might have to find a torch & go look.
Cheers, Matt.

Yep.
Is for the race car. Doing a big reconfigure over Xmas for a big crack at a title next year (had a taste last weekend with a win....), so it'll be a lot better with a 4.11.
The normal diff is a 41 11, which is 3.73. That's what it's got and is all I've got in spares.

That's an old wives tale Poppy.
Three autos have been thru here, and I seen others, and I've never seen one in any of them.
I've seen one out if a car, but as to whether it was from an auto or not I don't know.

What did those Diffs come on Brett? ie what cars.

I often think there must be a way to put in a different rear end into a Bellett. Something perhaps Nissan based as they have a lot of ratios, widths, interchangeability etc. Anything is possible of course given time and money.

The rumour was for years and years that auto sedans had them... but I'm yet to see an auto with a 4.11 in it. And I've looked at more than a few.
I think it was an optional ratio but not many ever appeared. Having said that I've seen a couple in random cars so who knows if there was a methodology to it. I know Florians had them but obviously a different centre so that's a case of swap the internals.
Not a big job but much easier if I don't have too.

Hello mate, if I can get both Tracy and Milli home together in the daylight to test the car with the unclear stamping I will know for sure. Sunday morning hopefully.
Looks like all my other late diffs are stamped 11 41.
Cheers, Matt.
