Classic Japanese Day #4. Dec 7.

Post by PR91 »

Hi all.
I know it's a ways off yet, but please put Dec 7 in your calendar for this event.
Is always a great day out put on by the Toyota guys and girls, and we've been every year thus far in great numbers (1 of very few groups to have attended them all since 2011).
This year is shaping up to be the biggest and best yet, with a special little Bellett twist....
Won't say anymore yet, but won't happen again I'm betting, so let's make the most of it.
Further details to follow, but let me know if you're interested.
Cheers.

Have been busy behind the scenes here with the organisers (TCCA.V) with things for this year's CJD.
Soon you'll see the Bellett influence this year, and the artwork alone is pretty damn cool.

CJD 2014 is one you will regret missing if you're not there.... So get to it.

Quick reminder that the CJD is in less than 2 weeks.
Also, the BCCV Xmas will be on the same day, held straight after the CJD, and RSVP is essential.
A "junior" newsletter is being posted to all financial members tomorrow with further details, as well as early info about the 2015 AGM and a reminder that membership fees are due by Dec 31.
Cheers.

********* EDIT *********
Please note that the junior newsletter states the we we're to meet up at 7:30am for an 8:00am departure for the CJD.
This is incorrect on my behalf.
We need to be there as near as possible to 8:00am, so we'll be meeting up at 7:00am for a 7:30am departure.
I will inform all of this in person when they RSVP as well.
Cheers.

CJD is next Sunday, Dec 7, with the BCCV Xmas to follow, so please make the effort to join in.
RSVP is Dec 2, and is vital.
Remember we plan to meet up at 7am, so please be on time so can can cruise to the show on time.

Also, I've had confirmation that as we are the feature car this year, we have a special area set aside for us that is front and centre, and we'll be highlighted during the day as well.

This is definitely one event you don't want to miss.

A few of my pictures.
Attendance down on last few years but then again, it rained almost without stop most of the day. Congrats to the hardy 10 Bellett owners and one Florian (great to see Gricey & Cheryl come down from Albury) Also to Kerry & friend to bring two cars down from Ballarat.

Still, some interesting cars to see....

(Interesting also to see the sky rocketting numbers on H plate vehicle at the show. Numbers now well over 52000-H
My Sport is about 20,000 so in two years another 32,000 cars have gone on the H plate scheme in Vic. Mind boggling number.)

Enjoyable day ,even considering the weather. Bellett display was excellent and certainly opened peoples eyes with many asking pertainent questions about Belletts, (and believe it or not Jim ) Florians and Isuzu. One question that I did not have an answer to was "Where can I buy a GT ? " There were budget restricitions with this question ! Thanks to the organisers for a great day in inclement conditions .

Great show of cars and line up of Belletts. Looks like the Belletts were the most numerous of one model there!

good point, hadn't noticed that until you mentioned it, Lewis.
One of our better turn outs probably. Maybe it should rain for all our future events ;) ;) :) :)

Gav found out the little red thing is an "Autozam AZ-1"
Designed and built by Suzuki, sold by Mazda..... Yep, figure that out.
Only about 5,000 were made.

My opinion on the success of Bellett numbers.....
The event itself is awesome. Very much up our alley, being classic Japanese related, where we get involved with other groups and they welcome us into their fold, as we certainly do with them all in return. Is something I've been saying for years TBH....and as we've steadily increased numbers as each CJD is held, its obvious BCCV members enjoy our involvement so hopefully next year we can be there in force even more.
Plenty of info. Keeping everyone informed gives them the ability to work out their personal involvement to attend, even if it's just where to meet and what it's all about.
Plenty of notice. Anytime of the year is busy for most, and car stuff takes a backseat to family, work, etc..... And this time of year is even worse, so giving a week or 2 notice will never result in good attendance numbers. Giving plenty of notice, in this case, months, means most can plan around it, and we see the results as we saw yesterday.

Cheers.
