Been seeing the internet jammed with "Datsun Day" stuff in relation to May 10, or 5/10 as they call it, with the Datsun 510 (we called it the 1600) being used as the reference....
It gave me an idea.
As nobody actually knows what exact date Isuzu began, how about we claim November 7 as Isuzu Day, that being 11/7 for obvious reasons?
Now whether we do something officially, post a few Isuzu things or whatever I don't know, but just putting it out there for discussion.
Over to you folks.
Isuzu Day....? Thoughts?

Re: Isuzu Day....? Thoughts?
Um...its backwards. It would be 7 11 on November the 7th........unless we were in the US.......which we're not.
Why not use the 11th of July, 11 7 here? There are way more Belletts here than in the states.
Sorry, I'm a bit thingy with Day..Month..Year being the correct progression. Short to long.
How did they arrive at Month..Day..Year?
Anyhow, I like the idea of Isuzu day. Might brighten the winter! Or late spring. But that is also a busy time of year for us.
Cheers, Matt.

Re: Isuzu Day....? Thoughts?
We've been discussing this on FB.
July 11 is too soon to organise anything. And the weather in Aus is usually crap.
Nov 7 is more time, inc reminding / promo at the Nats, and there's already a few other big events on that clubs have been invited too (for instance, Historic Sandown where we've been asked to do a big Isuzu display from 1964 to today) so we incorporate it easily.
Add that we understand 11/7 with the November date even tho it usually means July here, and if we can get a wider interest, then it will make sense in those areas too.
Mind you.... I'm probably wasting my time. 42 views in here and only 1 reply says people aren't interested, like most things, but then they complain when nothing is going on.

July this year is a bit close, we could do November this year but maybe lock it in as
an annual event July next year, either date works OR why not both so each state can choose 1 or the other or both depending if one doesnt work out they always have the other.
I know most of SA's display type events are in the beginning of the year. so here may be a group run/lunch
Hey isnt every day Isuzu Day!!

Re: Isuzu Day....? Thoughts?
My understanding from what I have read, is that the first ISUZU vehicle rolled off the production line, as it was then, on 9th April 1916.
In saying that any date in 2016 would be suitable in my opinion.

Re: Isuzu Day....? Thoughts?
Absolutely no offence Dave, but youve been sucked into the UK fed spin about April 9...... Like many others.
Nobody knows when the first actual day was. Isuzu included. That's why there was no official celebration from Japan itself.
April 9 came about from UK Isuzu dealers wanting to do something as a sales promotion. They chose April 9 as its the 100th day of the year and played on that.... Nothing more.
Sorry to burst the bubble, but that's fact.

Probably doesn't matter what day of the year, so how about the day after the nationals, we could celebrate and party on for another day, what about that for a good idea.

Re: Isuzu Day....? Thoughts?
5-6 days out of every single week of the year is Isuzu Day for me..... as that's how often I drive Donkey
but the 23rd of July is my main Isuzu day as I share that date (birthday) with 2 of my closest Bellett family members,/.
April 9 may have been a date pulled out of thin air but at least it has been generally accepted by the broader motoring enthusiast population.
I have also penned into my diary as another special day for taking Donkey for a special (because I can) fang
