Steering rack mounts

Post by 67GT »

Hi Guys and Gals,
I have a new set of rubber steering rack mounts that I am using as a template to have urethane ones made from. I have used this company before to have engine mounts re-bonded in rubber, and suspension rubbers remade in urethane, they do a good job.
I don't yet have a costing on the rack mounts, but am just looking to see if anyone else is interested in having some made up ? If anyone is interested, I will get them costed, and they can be distributed at the nationals or posted if required.
Regards
Warren

I purchased some steering rack rubbers off ebay, the guy manufactures them as well as Engine mounts, I haven't used them yet, so can't really offer an evaluation, just go on ebay and type in Isuzu Bellett, they should come up along with other parts and heaps of models and brochures.

Yes, I have purchased a set off ebay, but want to use urethane instead of rubber. More durable, and more stable. i am using the rubber ones as a template.

Warren, with less give in the urethane, you might get more shock through the wheel too, more like a teardrop. Its a problem to have to change the rack rubbers every 20 years or so, but rubber is more insulative and so quieter. I'm getting old, aren't I ?!
