Electric Fuel pump?

Guys my fuel pump on the florian has called it a day. Who has changed to an electric pump?
This may sound silly but i want to keep the origional fuel pump in its position, if i gut it of the diaphragms i dont see why i cant run the fuel through it still? ( i just want it to look origional!)
Anyone want to put in their opinion?
or should i try and find an origional fuel pump kit/ fuel pump?

also going to run a kit through the carby while im at it, then tyres and exhaust and it should be ready for some driving again!

I changed mine to an electric, hated the noise, it failed, changed back to stock mechanical pump on the side of the block.

I think I got one from Pa_Man (Josh) if you want to keep it working stock as well as looking stock.

You can leave the original in place
The electric will just pump through it
Just make sure the mechanical is not leaking into the oil
Which they can do when they are stuffed

thanks, i am a little worried about noise from the pump but figure if i mount it properly and dont cheap out too much it should be bearable. i may still go mechanical yet depending on what i can find for it.

Tock-tock-tock..... Yeah, nah. Like J says, fuel can leak into the sump or out of the drain hole in the pump. I think I have 2 kits left, so could let you have one. Original is best! I guess you need it before your trip to the Nationals!?

Side Note to anyone getting pumps out of the US, The Banjo Bolt thread is different to Aussie delivered pumps.
Aussie Bellett is M12 x 1.5mm US Luv M12 x 1.25mm

I have 3 Different styles of US Luv pumps but down to my last couple of Nikki's which I am keeping. (sold Mr Fibbles the 3rd last one)

I am also out of 1.25 thread Banjo Bolts but am placing an order soon
