WOW!!!

Post by KIKS-UK »

Years ago .... lol. I was lucky enough to be introduced to the wonderful Bellett!!

Now years later I find myself yearning for one again...

My neighbour bought a Deluxe, amongst others, before I was old enough to get my licence... I was hooked. I found a GT a few years later and also had an auto sedan at the time as well...

I went to the Nationals in Canberra late 80's ?? Was a member of the Isuzu CC of Aust...

I now live in the UK... and am hatching a plan...

I bought the GT from a chap in Syd.. may have been Reg?? Cant remember long time ago!!..

Id love to know where it is now as I cried literally when I sold it. The chap I think lived in Port Macquarie and it was going to get a full resto. The rego at the time was OMO 111 (The sedan I think was SLA 946)...

When sold it was fully worked 2Ltr, twin webbers, 5 speed, lowered etc... fast and fun!

I only have a few pics of it. I resprayed it myself on driveway as was in undercoat and bits missing when I got it... I did have an album, but unfortunately no longer...

I remember a few of us doing Amaroo Park Club days etc... wicked...!!
:D
Taken at NSW Gun Club Terrey Hills NSW where I used to shoot a fair bit...

Hey Steve... well it really is nice to meet you and know a bit more about it from then to now...

Im so glad its still around and being loved.... Im off to search for the pink one and check it out.

and cheers for the Welcome Dave!

From what I remember even years ago there was a few around in Finland, and when they were new the sedans were used as taxis in Holland... but theres no abundance of them that Im aware of round here...

Id really love to get one and rally it here in the UK, as I reciently had a Grp4 MK1 Escort... my Mrs has a Mk 2 Escort road rally car... but I think a GT would really suprise a few folks! and seeing as I dont have a project myself atm... (Ive spent the last few years helping to build some of the quickest Evos in the country... including my own Tommi Mak...)...

Let me know if theres anything I can do from here for you guys!

Cheers
Chris

i think around 1997 sold it around 01, then it moved to tweed gold coast around 02, i sold it to a mate who had problems with the zz gear box, anyway he had it removed and a standard reco put in, i tracked down the zz box 4 years later and got it for $20, poor bloke didnt know what he had.:)

Hi Chris, got the pink one a few years ago now,off a young bloke driving her around the Gold Coast unregoed, I was driving my 4 door at the time. We swaped a few stories about Belletts, sure he said he got it off his grandad. About 3 months later he came to see me still no rego, so we phoned his parents and did a deal. I tried to get a GT 30 years ago never had the money or the luck, now I don't have the time. Had many sedans over the years, my first was a dark blue 64 which my dad bought new, still think it was the best, sadly rust got the better of her as my dad was a motor mechanic workin in sand mining, Still dreamin, just let her run out of rego this month, needs a new heart, Regards, Gerry
