C223T upgrade

Post by Tuomas »

I'm about to change the old and tired C223 diesel engine of my '87 KB to a slightly newer C223T ('T' for turbo) from a '89 Trooper. Has anyone used a C223 head with the C223T engine? The C223 has bigger valves, you know and it would be easy to do the swap now as I have the both engines available.
I must also check that the T engine has got the stronger rods and not those weak early ones that cannot take over 3500 rpm at wot.
So why is the old engine tired? Mrs tried to teach it to become aircooled. For about 300 miles

Eeep this is why temperature gauges were invented, however they seem to be invisible to women. I'm not sure if many of us in this site has had much experience with the 80's Diesel Isuzu motors... but someone might come along and surprise me???

Good luck with your swap.
