Re: Screamin' Squirrel II

Hey Teditor

That's some serious panel work there. Very time consuming stuff!!
I'll bet it'll come up looking real good.

Re: Automatic Transmission Info

Hi Redback
I haven't got readily available Bellett Information but if it is a BW35 box then it's the same box as my Triumph Stag ( and many other cars) and the following comes from the Stag workshop manual. Fluid is ATF TYPE F and capacity is given as 8 litres but that includes the oil cooler that ...

Re: Track car update

hi all
I managed to grab a few days between Christmas and New Year. James came out to lend a hand, you will see him in a starring role, holding a socket and looking knowledgeable about all things to do with Bellett Sedans ..... and now....... after 4 years she's back on 4 wheels. Piccies below but ...

Re: Tassie Bellett Rescue

Hi all

She looks OK in pictures but guards are full of advanced tin worm. The only salvageable panels were the bonnet and front valance but they will still require new metal to be welded in. Already got rear ends and front ends in the old chook shed so had to make a decision on storage space and ...

Re: removing bellett front guards

Well done. Sometimes it can be a pain getting stuff off. Bolts and nuts are often not obvious but then you had to solve the sealant problem. It's good to see you wanting to do a strip down as you find so much stuff that will only cause problems later. Good luck with it. It all looks good from your ...

Re: Dear Donkey.....

Hi Sticky

It's good to hear Donkey's heart survived the operations. Asroc is right, with your porting mods the little Nikki will strangle the motor so you won't maximise improvements. Weber DGV 32/36 carb or similar, with adaptor plate, is the way to go. Another alternative might be to go a bigger ...

Hi Dave
Good to hear from you. Hope you're well.
It was a bolt and nut to fix the rotor as used in the original Gt set up.

WOW WHAT A GREAT LOOKING VEHICLE

I don't think I've seen one of them before in photos, let alone in the flesh.

What a great little car to do up. Yeah there's some stuff to do as you've mentioned but every problem has a solution.

Good luck with it.

Re: Gt Disc brake upgrade

You're getting very close Glenn,

No machining of caliper but the large "spacer" in the bellett hub has had about 4-5mm machined off it so that the rotor runs in the centre of the calipers. The original caliper mount has to be re-tapped to take the Sigma caliper bolts which are just a few thou ...

Re: Strengthening the front suspension

Hi Jeff
Sorry for coming in late on this conversation. I recently saw a Datsun 120Y coupe with a V8. The engine was the Daimler 2.5 L V8 as found in the Badge engineered Mark 2 Jags and called a Daimler 250. It was also used in the Daimler Dart (also called the Daimler SP 250). Nicely engineered ...

This is a great development Brett.

I'm sure that it didn't just happen overnight and that you had a fair bit to do with it behind the scenes. Thanks for your commitment in making this happen.

Re: Bored

hey Jeff

Re your original post on this thread. I have a saying stuck onto my fridge from a 17 Century philosopher (who didn't have an old car) which goes like this;

Whatever you can do,
or dream you can do,
BEGIN IT.
Boldness has genius, power
and magic in it.

Keep up the good work

Oooh Dear Sticky please don't disappoint me. I took you for a discerning intellectual type. I even forgave you the Morris Marina affair but these latest postings look like you've become a regular rev-head. I've just succeeded in taming James who is a devoted sedan owner and now you put up this kind ...
